This 4th of July I decided that I was going to do something I have always wanted to do. Go on an unplanned trip and have no plans or clue to what was going to happen when I got there. I text some friends in my phone two days before the 4th.
TWO!
Karlee Young and Colton Scadden responded with absolute yeses. They were down for the trip of all trips.
I was stoked. So Wednesday morning, we took off to Bear Lake at about 9:30 am.
We had no idea about where we were heading, no idea where we were sleeping, or what we were going to do. We had a cooler full of hot dogs and Popsicles and a two man tent thrown in the trunk and we were out.
Once we got to Bear Lake we spent about 30 minutes driving around trying to figure out where the best place to hang out on the beach was. We ended up posting up on a geese-pooped on beach.
I kept saying, "I'm stepping in poop..." but we decided....YOLO! haha

We stayed at the beach for a few hours and played in the water. We had a great day talking and throwing the football around. Don't forget about the Popsicles.
| Yep, Popsicles are great |
We started to get a little bored so we decided to find a lake that is called Bloomington Lake.
I have been there only one time before, but I knew there was a rope swing.
So we headed to Idaho. We drove on a dirt road for about an hour and I could tell that Colton and Karlee were doubtful as to where I was heading. I'll admit, I was a little nervous that I was just driving up a dirt road for no reason and we would eventually run into some mountain man killer or something.
But...we found the lake:)

We stayed at the lake for about an hour. It was so much fun going off the rope swing into the most beautiful lake. It was amazingly clear and so refreshing. Rope swing ftw.
We decided to head back before it got too dark. When we got back we enjoyed eating at the little shack that was famous for the raspberry shakes and sat in the awesome wagon provided.

We ended up pitching a tent in the back yard of my Aunts in-laws cabin/house and sleeping there. We listened to music and played cards that night until it got too dark to see. So many people bike and run in Bear Lake. YOWO. (you only walk once) Karlee and I were paranoid the entire night thinking someone was going to come and get us or something. I woke up once at 2 am swearing that I was hearing things. Karlee woke up at 6:30 am, and by this time we were both so freaked out we made Colton get up and look around to see if anyone was out there. haha Apparently it was just the cows walking around in the field behind us. I can't imagine if we were actually camping in the woods!
This was thee best 4th of July I have ever had, even though, ironically we didn't get to see any fireworks.
I'm so glad I have such awesome friends that will go along with my crazy ideas :)
